Please, Your Mother?!

by starzskymoon on March 2, 2010

I had a good laugh last weekend.  So good, in fact, that it quite frankly made my entire week.  I was able to live through the whole thing solely on one truth that I learned while at my friend, M’s, mom’s house for her birthday.

You see, I get a big quick out of gossip queens.  I’ve never really been one to sit around and just speak dirty things about other people.  It honestly berates and exhausts me.  I don’t see how girls just get into this mode.  Don’t you just get tired of hearing your own voice squeal over the mishaps and flaws of others?

IRL, I’ve always tried to be the uplifting and positive friend; the one you can come to and confidently confide in, knowing that I will be the only one to know your deep-dark secret if you wish.  People know they can speak honestly to me because I will keep the truths with me and only me.  I kinda pride myself in it, actually.

So forgive me for getting on a pedestal today because my boyfriend wonders why I don’t have many girlfriends.  Fact of the matter is, I get tired of the bullshit and drama that most girls exude.  I mean, honestly, who wants to sit around and bash other people, especially when they themselves have so many flaws to work on themselves?

I, for one, know I am not perfect.  And I will most likely be the first person to tell you just that.  I’m no afraid of my flaws.  I know mistakes only make me learn how to deal with life a little more justly and less judgmental.

So mind me when I get a laugh out of the fact that M ran into a mutual high school friend’s mom in the mall last Saturday.  And mind me when I laugh at the fact that her own mother ratted her out for being THE gossip queen.  That’s right.  Her own mother told M how she tells her everything and keeps her up-to-date on everyone’s lives via . . . now just wait for it . . .

FACEBOOK!!!!!!

That’s right.  It’s not even like people tell her this shit for real.  She just stalks everyone on Facebook and gathers her information from there.  I for one, am cracking up over this even now.  It just makes me want to write something completely absurb on Facebook just to see what happens.  I like playing games and challenging people like that–one of my many flaws!!

Do you all have issues like this?  I really get a crack up over when I write something in my status and people read way into it, then call my boyfriend thinking it’s all about him, then I get the questioning eyes from him.  Thank God he doesn’t have Facebook because it may very well have posed a huge problem in our relationship.

So. please people, just stay the eff out of my life unless I ask you to be a part of it.  Thanks!

Oh lord. Facebook is just trouble… not that I don't love it- I do… but yes. It really brings the gossip queens out. If I had a dollar for every time someone read into one of my status updates and called me about it- i'd be a hundred-aire. At least.

LOL facebook and twitter are sources of trouble. I do however get a kick of people talking about it. I try not to gossip and you're right most of the girls do that.
